Five Turkish apprentice jockeys successfully completed a six-month training programme at RACE on 10^th November and have returned to work in their native country following a productive spell in Ireland.

Dorukhan Palaur, Baran Ozturk, Ismail Gungormez, Gokhan Sarigul and Halil Parildar participated in an intensive programme of riding instruction and jockey coaching using video analysis both at RACE and on the Curragh training grounds. They followed a fitness training programme and attended English language classes for the duration of their stay and they received valuable work experience with leading local trainers including John Oxx, where the undoubted highlight was the opportunity to work every day with the highest-rated thoroughbred in the world Sea the Stars.

The five boys made a good impression with trainers and staff alike and have undoubtedly benefitted from their time in Ireland. We look forward to seeing them go on to greater success in the rapidly-developing Turkish racing industry.
